On foot from the Picchio you can walk around the lake of Mergozzo, the paths to Alpe Vercio, Ompio and Mount Faiè, at the gates of Valgrande, or to reach Montorfano, rich in history and curiosities. The surrounding mountain area has splendid valleys, each one different in terms of characteristics, history and traditions. Just think of the harsh and fascinating Valgrande, the Val Formazza of Walser origins, the less known and wild Antrona and Bognanco valleys, the Vigezzo Valley, home of painters and chimney sweeps, the Anzasca Valley at the foot of Monterosa, the splendid natural parks of Veglia and Devero ...

THE LAKES
Upper Piedmont with the lake district is a unique area of ​​rare beauty. Let yourself be enchanted by a boat trip on Lake Maggiore with a visit to the Borromean islands, or on Lake Orta with the island of San Giulio.
The mild climate allows the luxuriant growth of flowers and plants, which you can admire in the splendid and interesting lakeside botanical gardens, in particular the Villa Taranto and the garden of Isola Madre. There are also numerous Sacri Monti Calvario which invite to a pause of silence and meditation.

LO SPORT
Do not miss a swim or a dip in the waters of Lake Mergozzo of one of the cleanest lakes in Europe, or rent canoes, pedal boats and sup, practice sport fishing.
